DARIUS FARHOUMAND is a professional bassoonist and educator based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Having earned appearances in venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium and Weill Recital Hall, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and Woolsey Hall at Yale University, Farhoumand has performed and recorded alongside world class artists such as Augustin Hadelich, Valerie Coleman, and David Shifrin.

A rising, classically trained musician, Darius holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in music education with Pre-K-12 teaching certification from New York University, and Master of Music and Master of Musical Arts degrees from the Yale School of Music. His primary bassoon mentors include Frank Morelli, Kim Laskowski, and Mark Timmerman. Currently based in Ann Arbor, MI, Farhoumand is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan, conducting research and publication work under Jeffrey Lyman.
